Navagraha Temples around Chennai - 5 Navagraha sthalams and temples near those temples

1) Sivagama sundari sameetha Ramanatheeswarar-Porur  
2) AadiKamakshi sameetha Thiru Neelakandeswarar - Gerugambakkam 
3) Soundarambiga sameetha Sundareswarar - Kovur
4) Kamakshi amman sameetha Nageswarar - Kundrathur
5) Periyanayagi ambiga sameetha Agastheeswarar - Kolapakkam
6) Lakshmi Kuberar  - Rathinamangalam
7) Sakra Kali amman - Rathinamangalam
8) Arrai Kassu Amman -  Rathinamangalam

1) Sivagama sundari sameetha Ramanatheeswarar-Porur  
 "Guru sthalam". Rama and Anjaneyar came here and found this lingam and did the pradishtai
They did 48 days pooja here and hence the Sivan here called Ramanatheeswar
Raja Raja Cholan built this temple. Pallava kings rebuilt it. Also they offer Theertham and Sattari here in this temple. It is called Utthara Rameswaram. 
Here Navagrahas are seen with Ambal which is very unique.
Rajas gave lot of lands to the temple and currently around 1.5 lakh of people are leaving in that land. Rama and Vanara sena used a chariot and the wheel is still available in the Egmore museum. Other sanadhis are Kalabairavar, Suriyan, Sandiran and Santhana Ganapathy


 2) AadiKamakshi sameetha Thiru Neelakandeswarar - Gerugambakkam 
"Kethu Sthalam".  Adi Kamakshi amman is having 3 eyes and deity is installed on top of Srichakram. 1200+ years old temple. Generally sandikeswar will be on the left hand side of Siva outside the temple and here both Vinayaga and Sandikeswarar are inside for specific reasons.
Other sanadhis are Kalabairavar and Navagraham. Special poojas are conducted Tuesday Emmagandam time for Siva.




3) Soundarambiga sameetha Sundareswarar - Kovur
"Bhudas Sthalam" - Swami is also called as Thirumeneeswar as Parvathy did penance as Cow and Lord siva appeared before her and went to mangadu and married her. 1300 year old temple. This is built by Sundara Cholan Father of Raja Raja Cholan. Special mention is 63 Moovar is there and once they use to do all functions but nowadays not happening.






4) Kamakshi amman sameetha Nageswarar - Kundrathur
"Ragu's sthalam"
Sekkizhar a great saivite born in this place (Kundrathur). When he was with the King he use to visit Thirunageswaram temple (Kumbakonam) daily and pray the lord. During his old age days he came back to Kundrathur and stayed and he could not visit Thirunageswaram. Lord Siva became pratyaksham and gave darisanam to him and Sekkizhar built this temple in Kundrathur and use to perform pooja regularly.





5) Periyanayagi ambiga sameetha Agastheeswarar - Kolapakkam
No Archakar was available but we are blessed to have darshan of Lord Siva, Ambikai , Kalabairavar, Suriyan and Navargram apart from Lord Ganesa. Not able to get more information on the Sthalam or puranam as nobody there in the temple but it seems to be a very old temple.





6) Lakshmi Kuberar  - Rathinamangalam - Temple deity are Lakshmi Kuberar, Mahalakshmi Chitralekha. Rare temple as we may not have seen temple for Kuberar. Special poojas are conducted on Sundays for Kuberar. Green cloth is used for him. Vibhuthi is also given in Green colour


7) Sakra Kali amman - Rathinamangalam
Constructed by Kali upasakar.  Shree Chakara kali and Bhavadharani are main deities in this temple.


8) Arrai Kassu Amman -  Rathinamangalam
total 107 ammans are installed in this temple which are available around india and 108th amman is arrakasu amman. People have belief that anything which is lost can be acquired when we pray to this amman. Panagam is the neivedyam in this temple and once we get the lost item people do that panagam neivedyam.
